Elevate your home café to professional heights with this perfectly matched German-Italian duo: the ECM Mechanika Max heat-exchanger espresso machine and the Mazzer Philos single-dose grinder. Precision engineering, zero compromise on taste, and workflow that feels effortless – this is the setup serious espresso enthusiasts dream of.
Mazzer Philos – 64 mm Single-Dose Grinder with Zero Retention
The Mazzer Philos is a light-commercial, single-dose grinder built for absolute precision and cleanliness. With its vertical 64 mm flat burrs and innovative auger-feed system, retention is effectively zero – switch beans or brew methods without waste or cross-contamination.
Choose your burr set to match your taste profile:
- i200D Burrs (High Clarity) – Perfect for light to medium roasts. Delivers bright, articulate cups with vivid fruity and floral separation, pleasant acidity, and a clean, medium body. Ideal for modern espresso and filter brewing.
- i189D Burrs (Full Body) – Tailored for medium to dark roasts and classic Italian-style espresso. Produces rich, syrupy shots with pronounced chocolate, dried fruit, and velvety texture thanks to a slightly higher proportion of fines.
Key highlights:
- Virtually zero retention thanks to vertical burrs + auger feed
- Hybrid step + stepless micrometrical adjustment (6-micron steps)
- 400 W asynchronous motor running at 1400/1600 RPM – cool, quiet, consistent
- Magnetic 58 mm dosing cup with integrated dose finisher
- Tool-free chamber access (settings stay put while cleaning)
- Premium anodized aluminum body with noise dampening
